No, I can't believe Ace is dead it destroys the whole perspective of Roger's bloodline living on, which I was really hoping for when Oda told everyone that Ace is Roger's son. THAT'S NOT COOL! Anyway, the biggest discussion is what is Luffy going to do next? Luffy has a couple of choices, and the plot can go a number of ways. First off Luffy can run for it and leave Whitebeard to his destructive rampage. Second Luffy's rage will erupt with his control of his Haki and wipe the floor with Akinu (I HOPE SO!). Or Luffy's just going to reminice by Ace's body as Akinu moves to kill Luffy as well.
As for the ways the plot can go well, let's start off with Ace truley dead. Ace's dies, and it leaves Luffy with a mentality of rage and anger towards the Marines, and also reinforces his determination to get stronger, enabling him to protect his nakama even better.
The next one would be that Ace is wavering between life and death but still has the ability to come back if he finds the will to. Luffy can act any one of the three previous choices, and if Ace has the ability to come back or influence Luffy to a degree between speaking to him (Telepathicly or spiritually) or even giving Luffy his Flare Flare abilities (though I highly doubt that to be anywhere possible because it would probably kill Luffy). (LOL burning rubber that would hurt, not to mention stink.)
Another course of plot is that Ace is dead but however there is a deep secret in haki or with Dragon's abilites that allow him/them (him being Dragon's abilites, and Them being a group of strong Haki users) to bring Ace back to life. And before anyone starts saying that, that isn't possible, let's just recalibrate. IF Dragon has a devil's fruit power it is left unknown as to what it is, so there is a possibility that Dragon has a strong enough devil fruit or the special kind of devil fruit to bring Ace back to life. Such possibilites are Time Time fruit, Soul Soul Fruit (but I think Brook already has that but Brook's could be the Life, or resurrection fruit I can't remember).
The names are self explanitory as Time Time fruit could undo the damage done to Ace's body making the ability to revive him possible. The Soul Soul fruit would enable a person to retreive a person's soul and place it back or take it away.
As for the Haki users well, if two powerful Haki users can Split the Sky in two, I'm sure a number of them could open up Heaven/hell and resurrect Ace, though this is all speculation.
Any one of these could happen or none of them could happen, afterall it's Echiro Oda who writes One Piece so it is up to him after all, I don't like the idea that Ace dies, and it is a dicouraging thing (so much that many people will stop reading (I hope not)). But I'm still going to be reading it after this to see that Luffy will get his revenge on Akinu, and if we are lucky Ace will still be alive or will be brought back to life.
